Computer Engineering
The Computer Engineering Department at SAL Institute of Diploma Studies was established with the objective of equipping students with a solid foundation in computer engineering principles, practical technical skills, and effective problem-solving abilities. Affiliated with Gujarat Technological University, the department offers a three-year Diploma in Computer Engineering with an annual intake capacity of 180 students.
The program is designed to provide a balanced mix of theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience through labs, workshops, and practical assignments. The curriculum is regularly updated to reflect advancements in computing and IT, ensuring students remain aligned with current trends and technologies.
The department emphasizes project-based learning, innovation, and teamwork, encouraging students to explore their creativity while developing essential technical and analytical skills. Regular seminars, expert lectures, and technical events further enhance the learning experience. SAL Institute of Diploma Studies provides state-of-the-art computer labs equipped with over 80 high-performance Intel Core i3 & i5 desktops (3.0 GHz, 4 GB RAM, 500 GB HDD), forming a strong base for both academic understanding and practical skill development. These systems are enhanced by a diverse range of peripherals and auxiliary hardware, facilitating thorough hands-on training and project work. The institute's management focuses on maximizing student engagement by offering seamless access to these lab resources, thereby encouraging practical innovation and the real-world application of technical knowledge.
Students are equipped with high-speed internet via a dedicated 16 Mbps broadband connection. Furthermore, the entire campus is interconnected through a fast 300 Mbps switched Ethernet local area network (LAN), fostering a dynamic intranet environment for efficient file sharing, collaborative study, and easy access to digital materials.

Priyal Patel, a Semester-4 Diploma Engineering student, has achieved remarkable success by securing a Silver Medal in the 66–70 kg open age group category at the prestigious Khel Mahakumbh boxing competition. SAL Institute of Diploma Studies (SIDS) proudly celebrates a remarkable achievement as the SIDS IETE Students’ Forum (ISF) has been honored with the Best ISF Award – 2025 during the IETE ISF Congress held at Adani University, Ahmedabad. This prestigious recognition was awarded by The Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE), Ahmedabad Centre as part of its Golden Jubilee Celebration.
