Computer Engineering
The Computer Engineering Department at SAL Institute of Diploma Studies was established with the objective of equipping students with a solid foundation in computer engineering principles, practical technical skills, and effective problem-solving abilities. Affiliated with Gujarat Technological University, the department offers a three-year Diploma in Computer Engineering with an annual intake capacity of 180 students.
The program is designed to provide a balanced mix of theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience through labs, workshops, and practical assignments. SAL Institute of Diploma Studies provides state-of-the-art computer labs equipped with over 80 high-performance Intel Core i3 & i5 desktops (3.0 GHz, 4 GB RAM, 500 GB HDD), forming a strong base for both academic understanding and practical skill development. These systems are enhanced by a diverse range of peripherals and auxiliary hardware, facilitating thorough hands-on training and project work. The institute's management focuses on maximizing student engagement by offering seamless access to these lab resources, thereby encouraging practical innovation and the real-world application of technical knowledge.
Students are equipped with high-speed internet via a dedicated 16 Mbps broadband connection. Furthermore, the entire campus is interconnected through a fast 300 Mbps switched Ethernet local area network (LAN), fostering a dynamic intranet environment for efficient file sharing, collaborative study, and easy access to digital materials.
