The Department of Computer Engineering, Information Technology, and Computer Science & Engineering at SAL Institute of Diploma Studies (SIDS) organized an industrial visit to TOPS Technologies, Ahmedabad on 25th February 2026. The objective of the visit was to provide students with practical exposure to the IT industry, understand emerging technological trends, and explore career opportunities in both coding and non-coding domains. 

The visit was conducted in two sessions to accommodate different groups of students. In the first session, 54 students from CE, CSE, and IT departments (2nd, 4th, and 6th semesters) participated under the guidance of Ms. Bhumika Thakkar and Mr. Happy Mistry. The second session included 52 students from the 4th semester of CE and IT, guided by Ms. Pooja Vora and Mr. Smit Upadhyay. The sessions were conducted by Mr. Sahil Sadarangani and Ms. Anjali Patel. 

During the session, students learned about various IT career paths such as frontend development, backend development, UI/UX design, and data science. Special emphasis was given to the growing impact of Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI, and Agentic AI in modern software development. A live demonstration of an AI Job Search Agent showcased how AI can automate job searches and applications. 

Overall, the visit provided valuable industry insights and motivated students to upgrade their technical skills to meet future technological demands.
